Emma bezocht afgelopen maand de universiteit van Oxford, hier gaf ze aan enkele studenten een lezing over o.a. feminisme en het HeForShe project.

Emma Watson heeft zondagavond de MTV Movie & TV Award gewonnen voor beste acteur & actrice in een speelfilm voor haar rol in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
De muziekzender maakt sinds dit jaar niet langer onderscheid tussen acteurs en actrices en kent slechts één categorie waarin zowel acteurs als actrices kans maken op de prijs. Winnares Emma Watson bedankte MTV voor de in haar ogen moedige zet.
“De stap van MTV om een sekseneutrale prijs in te voeren betekent voor iedereen wat anders, maar voor mij is het dat acteren je verplaatsen in andermans schoenen is en dat je daar niet twee categorieën voor nodig hebt”, zei Watson bij het in ontvangst nemen van de award. “Empathie en je verbeelding gebruiken kennen geen grenzen”, vervolgde de actrice.
De MTV Movie & TV Awards werden zondag in Los Angeles voor de 26e keer uitgereikt. Het publiek stemde online op de genomineerden in diverse categorieën zoals beste acteur of actrice in een speelfilm, televisieshow, beste presentator of favoriete held en schurk van het jaar.
