19 oktober: •Wheatfield - A Confrontation: Battery Park Landfill, Downtown Manhattan•
We love Agnes. ♥️ Agnes Denes is a renowned Hungarian-American earthwork artist who creates trailblazing artwork tackling issues like global warming and economic inequality. In the summer of 1982, she planted a wheatfield in a landfield created after the construction of the Twin Towers. "Wheatfield was a symbol, a universal concept; it represented food, energy, commerce, world trade, and economics. It referred to mismanagement, waste, world hunger and ecological concerns. It called attention to our misplaced priorities - Agnes Denes."
