Emma wordt via een online gestarte petitie uitgedaagd om een week lang in vluchtelingenkamp te verblijven, zonder beveiliging. Volgens de bedenkers zou haar verblijft in een migrantenkamp in Calais, Frankrijk aantonen dat deze veilig zijn en hoe pro-feminisme migranten zijn. Zo’n 12.000 mensen hebben de online petitie ondertekend, het beoogde doel is 15.000, Emma heeft nog niet publiekelijk gereageerd….. dus of ze ook daadwerkelijk zal gaan als het doel van 15.000 bereikt wordt is onduidelijk.

Actress Emma Watson, who is best known for playing Hermione in the “Harry Potter” films, might not be too pleased with a petition that is gaining popularity on the internet.

The Change.org petition calls for Watson to spend a week at a migrant camp in Calais, France:

“In order to show how safe current migration is to Europe, particularly regarding the cause of feminism (I reject wholeheartedly the notion that North African and Middle Eastern migrants are unsafe, and rapists), Emma Watson should spend a week’s holiday in a Calais migrant camp, without guards of course, to show how safe, and how pro feminism these migrants are.”
Watson has been making the news over the past year for her outspoken feminist stances, and was made a “Goodwill Women’s Ambassador” by the U.N.

She has also been vocal in her support of refugees in Europe.

The 25-year-old sent out a simple tweet back in September:

Over 12,000 people have signed the petition so far, with a goal of 15,000. It has been active just a little over a week.

Watson has not addressed the issue publicly.
